I’ve been bad about updating, but I think most of the people who read this are also on my Facebook so you’re not missing anything. :-p

Wes now will point to his belly when you ask him where it is.  He’s still into, and climbing on, everything!  We got some bad weather this week so we stuck close to home, but we did go to Rhyme Time on Monday and had lunch out yesterday in the Target Cafe- ha.  Today we went to Chipotle with our B1G1 coupon from Facebook (yay) and Wes actually ate a little bit.  He had apple juice for the first time- 1/2 water 1/2 juice- in his sippy.  He wasn’t really into it, he much prefers his unsweetened vanilla almond milk.

In other news, we’ve taken him off whole milk due to some nasty diapers that follow its consumption.  The nurse at our pediatrician’s office said to take him off all dairy and see what happens, but if we did that he’d pretty much eat nothing since cheese is a dietary staple for him.  So, I’ve just cut back on cheese and yogurt and cut the milk out completely.  He’s never had issues with me having dairy and has always done fine with yogurt/cheese.  I have to call them back in a week to update them on how he’s doing.  I bought him the almond milk because it has the same amount of calcium and vitamin d as cow’s milk. He’s still nursing so it’s not a big deal if he doesn’t drink milk at all, but it’s nice for him to get something other than water once a day.

Kah  =  Cup

He would say it in his carseat sometimes so I was wondering if it was ‘car’, but then he started pointing at cups/sippies/water bottles.  I gave him his sippy yesterday in the car when he said it and he was happy. 🙂

The past 2 days have been beautiful- yesterday was 73, today almost 60-  so we jogged to the park, played for about a hour, and jogged back home.  He loved being able to run around, but he rather just run then go on the swings/slides/etc.  Let’s just say mommy gets in her exercise!

Those are 2T jammies!

Enjoying a snack and playing with his letters.

I think we are stocked on wipes for awhile!  (All for ~$15!!)

Wes broke through a Safety 1st lock that we had, so they sent us a bunch to try out!  Excellent customer service!

If you get Baby Talk or Parents magazine, there is a $10/off Amazon baby coupon in the new issues. I just bought 720 wipes for $3.12! Do the subscribe & save (30% off- cancel the subscription once they ship) and use the code MOMWIPES for an addition discount (15%, I think) on Pampers and Luvs. Then I used the $10 off!

**You automatically get free shipping with Subscribe & Save or if you have an Amazon Mom membership**

Subtotal of Items: $21.46
Shipping & Handling: $22.41
Free Shipping: -$22.41
Promotion Applied: -$10.00
Promotion Applied: -$6.44
Promotion Applied: -$2.15
——
Total before tax: $2.87
Estimated Tax To Be Collected: $0.25
——
Total for this Order: $3.12

That’s only $0.004/wipe!!! I think that was my best deal yet on wipes. I could have got them cheaper, but I wanted the thicker wipes which has less per container.

Just a few random pictures.

Slow to update…

My updates have been lacking because Steve bought me an iPod Touch and I’m not on my laptop much the days. Nothing exciting going on and I’ve been mostly posting pics/videos to my Facebook- I’m sure my friends list loves that. :p.

Only thing worth mentioning is, I think it’s official, Wes is nightweaned. He hasn’t nursed over night in over a week. I thought we had ruined our progress when we were trying to not rock him back to sleep and he ended up screaming at us, but all is well. Sunday night he didn’t wake up at all overnight and shocked us by sleeping through the night again Monday night. I’m really not getting my hopes up, but it’s Ben nice to have a couple nights of sleep. Steve said he woke up sunday night wondering where Wes was, I did not.

Other than that, our week has consisted of story time and Target, I’m stocking up on stuff for the fall and winter since clothes are on clearance. I also bought him a size 7 in the tennis shoes he already has since they were on clearance as well- good deals!

edit: I shouldn’t have mentioned his sleep- last night he was up from 12-1am. :-/ He wasn’t a fan of Steve.

When I tell him to get down off of anything- fireplace, stairs, etc- he always says ‘dahn/da’. He’s definitely been acting like a toddler lately, very head strong and throwing tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants or gets something taken from him. Distraction works 50% of the time, the other 50% he just screams.

Kids these days!

Wes told me he wants a tv for the play/guest room so he can watch Yo Gabba Gabba up there. He also asked for a dvd player for the car.

What happened to kids wanting Legos and Lincoln Logs? :-p

Night-weaning from nursing…

Night #1- Wes slept 7pm-3am, then cried about 30min while Steve rocked him, slept on Steve until 5am. Then he and I slept until 7am. :-p
Night #2- Not great at all…Steve luckily had caffeinated pop for work..
Night #3- Slept 7pm-2:30am, Steve rocked him and he slept on Steve for a bit (40min), then in his crib until 6!

Hoping he continues to improve and I’m going to try to take over in the middle of the night so Steve can get some sleep. No plans to wean him during the day, I’d at least like to keep nursing until winter is over. Plus, he’s become a horribly picky eater and I feel better knowing he’s getting the nutrients he needs from me even when he will only eat: peanut butter, pretty much any carbs, banana, yogurt, cheese. Oh, and he’ll eat fries if we offer them- he ate 3 from Chick-fil-a today!
